On our first trip to the Caribbean, we explored 10 island countries, Anguilla, St.Marten, Sint Maarten, St. Barths, Martinique, St.Lucia, GrenadaAruba, Curacao and Bonaire. If you click on the links, you will find in-depth information on these 10 amazing vacation destinations, all of which we would recommend you spend some time.

The Caribbean is an undiscovered secret that should be included in everyone’ s travel plans. There is so much to see and do and it is not expensive. San Juan, Puerto Rico is the hub. This is where the airplanes land from Houston and Miami. Old town San Juan with its magnificent forts and period buildings is a history lovers dream come true. And the views coming into Old Town from the hotel district are fabulous. You can stare out to sea and let your imagination take you back  to a time when Spanish treasure galleons sailed the seven seas and stopped in San Juan on their way to and from Spain.

From Puerto Rico you can fly out to any of the smaller islands all the way down to the Dutch Indies (Aruba, Curacao and Bonaire, also called the ABC islands)

Every island is different, yet every island is the same. They all have sand, sea and surf and the same temperature (a beautiful 87 degrees any time of the year) but the culture of each island is very different and distinct depending on its past history. Some are for the jet setter while others are laid back and for the everyday tourist. Some are both, depending on which end of the island you visit. Some are exotic and lush, with a rich culture, while others are more commercial and offer a chance to return to civilization, so to speak.

None will ever bore you and the people on all the islands are some of the friendliest you will find any where in the world.
